The full Customer Center tour — searching customers, reading a profile, receiving a payment with a printed receipt, and generating a customer statement.
A full tour of Customer Center: profile, payment, receipt and statement.
Customer Center is where every customer, their balance, and their history lives — search, open a profile, collect a payment, print a receipt, and generate a statement, all from one place.
Finding a customer
Type into the search box above the card grid to filter instantly by name, phone or email — no need to scroll a long list.
The customer profile
Click any customer's card to open their profile: Total Purchases, Payments Made, Outstanding balance and Last Transaction date up top, then a full Transaction History list and a Payment Timeline chart below it.
Receiving a payment
- Click Receive Payment from the customer's profile (or Receive Payment in the top bar for any customer).
- Set the Date, the Payment Type the money actually came in through, and the Amount.
- Watch New Outstanding Balance update live as you type — confirm it before saving.
- SAVE, or Save & Print Receipt to hand over a receipt on the spot.
Record the payment type honestly. It's what makes your cash, bank and wallet figures reconcile at the end of the day — a transfer logged as cash will have you hunting a phantom shortfall in the till.
Generating a customer statement
Customer Statement builds a proper account document: set a From and To date, click Generate, and every invoice and payment in that window lists out with a running balance.
| Part | What it says |
|---|
| Opening Balance | What they owed on the first day of the period. |
| The table | Each transaction: date, Type (INVOICE / RECEIPT), Payment Mode, Debit, Credit, running Balance. |
| Closing Balance | The figure being claimed, labelled Amount owed by customer. |
A debit increases what the customer owes you (an invoice); a credit reduces it (a payment). A statement narrowed to a single day is also how you produce proof of a payment taken earlier, since the invoice itself has no receipt button.
Sharing it
The finished statement prints, exports as a PDF, or shares straight to WhatsApp — the same document whether it's for your own records or the customer's.
If something looks wrong
- A customer's balance looks too high — open their profile and read the Transaction History down; a missing payment row is a payment that was never recorded.
- The invoice shows no bank details — the payment type used has no bank or wallet set. Fix it under Settings → Payment Types.
New on every customer card: Msg schedules a text to that customer on a date and time you choose (from your SMS units), and the green WhatsApp button opens a chat with "Hi <first name>," already typed (free). See "Automatic messages" in Customer Follow-Up.
Did customers owe you before you started SmartShop? Add each old balance once with Customer Center -> Balances brought in (or from Excel). It shows on their account as a BROUGHT IN row and payments clear it first. See "Customers who owed you before SmartShop".
